Bus-CNG collision kills three in Tangail

Three people, including two women, were killed and two others injured in a collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Dhanbari upazila of the district this afternoon.


Two of the deceased were identified as Basanti, 50, a resident of Kotwali Police Station area in Mymensingh district and Phulkumari, 35. However, the identity of another deceased could not be confirmed immediately.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhanbari Police Station SM Shahidullah said a passenger bus of 'Binimoy Paribahan', heading towards Dhanbari from Dhaka, collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the Baghail area on the Tangail-Jamalpur highway around 2pm, leaving five people injured.

The injured were taken to Dhanbari and Madhupur Upazila Health Complexes, where doctors declared three of them dead, reports BSS. 

The two other injured are currently undergoing treatment at Madhupur Upazila Health Complex.
