A couple was electrocuted to death in a tragic accident at Meherpur district on Monday.

The victims were identified as Golam Kibria, 55, a mason and son of the late Azizul Haque, and his wife Rina Khatun, 45 who are the residents in Chaugachha village under Gangni upazila . The couple is survived by their three daughters.

The incident occurred around 3:30pm when an electric wire, reportedly torn from a neighboring house, became entangled with a bicycle near their home.

According to eyewitnesses, Golam Kibria was electrocuted while attempting to retrieve the bicycle, unaware that it was in contact with the live wire.
