Youth dies after being hit by train in Thakurgaon

A 24-year-old man died after being hit by a train while sitting on a railway track in Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon on Thursday evening.


The deceased was identified as Limon, son of Sahid from Mohila College area of Pirganj municipality.

Witness Tuhin said Limon was sitting on the track when a Panchagarh-bound Kanchan commuter train approached.

Though Limon tried to signal the train to stop, unfortunately he was instantly struck and killed, he said.

Pirganj Railway Station’s assistant station master Janata Rani said the train left Pirganj station in the evening and the accident happened near Pole-450 in Mitrabati, reports UNB. 

Sub-inspector of Pirganj Police Station Al-Amin said a container of glue was recovered from the scene. The Railway Police (GRP) was informed.
