Third victim dies among four burnt in Lakshmipur cylinder blast

Another victim of a gas cylinder explosion on a boat in Ramgati upazila has died, raising the death toll in the incident to three.


Fisherman Gani Khan, 50, passed away this morning while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, confirmed Officer-in-Charge of Ramgati Police Station, Md. Kabir Hossain.

He had been receiving treatment for the past eight days. Another victim Abul Khair, 32, remains in critical condition.

The incident occurred last Thursday when six fishermen were cooking on a boat near the fish landing centre in Ramgati. Suddenly, a gas cylinder exploded, burning all six fishermen.

They were initially rescued and admitted to Ramgati Upazila Health Complex. Four of them were later transferred to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery due to worsening conditions.

Among them, Amjad Hossain died during treatment on Saturday night Faruk Hossain died on Tuesday morning, reports BSS.
