A mother and her minor son were killed, and the husband was injured as a speeding truck crashed into them after they fell from a running motorbike in Birampur upazila of Dinajpur district, said police on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Kohinur Begum, 27, and her two-month-old son Rishad Kaif, of Dhanghora village under the upazila.  The injured is her husband Golam Rabbani.

Jahangir Alam, sub-inspector of Birampur Police Station, said the speeding truck from behind rammed into them shortly after they fell on the road from the bike when it lost control in front of Sonali Bank of the upazila around 12:20am, reports UNB.

The accident left the duo dead on the spot and another injured, he said.

As there was no complaint from the family, the bodies were handed over to the relatives without autopsy, the SI added.
