2 killed in road crashes at Darussalam and Jatrabari in capital

Two people were killed in road crashes in Darussalam and Jatrabari areas of the city on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Md Abu Siddique, 52, of Bandarban district, and Shihab, 21, of Narayanganj district.

At Darussalam, Abu Siddique was hit by an unidentified vehicle while crossing the road at night and fell on the road.

Later, a pedestrian rescued him and rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared Siddique dead around 10pm, said Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abdul Khan, assistant at DMCH police outpost, reports UNB.

In Jatrabari area, Shihab sustained injuries falling from his motorbike on Jatrabari flyover.

He was taken to DMCH in critical condition where the doctor declared him dead, said ASI Abdul Khan.

The bodies were kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
