Father, daughter killed, 4 hurt in Sylhet road crash

A man and his daughter were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a private car in Dayamir area under Osmani Nagar upazila of the district this morning.


The deceased were identified as Md. Harun Mia, 31, son of Md. Safiq Mia of Majidpur village under Umarpur Union of the upazila and his daughter Anisa, 8, reports BSS. 

The accident took place around 8.30 am on the Sylhet-Dhaka highway when a bus collided head-on with a private car, leaving car driver Harun dead on the spot and five others injured, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Highway Police Abdur Rashid Sarkar.

The injured were taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared Anisa dead.
