2 killed including police SI in Ctg road crash
Two people, including a police sub-inspector (SI), were killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Fatikchhari, Chattogram.
The accident occurred this evening in the Uttar Paindong Amtal area of Paindong Union in the upazila, said police sources.
The deceased were identified as Saiful Islam, 40, a sub-inspector of Manikchhari Police Station, Khagrachhari and Md. Hafiz, 30, a pedestrian.
The injured are Constable Abdullah Al Noman, 26, of Manikchhari Police Station and motorcyclist Md. Yasin, 20. They were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
Saiful Islam was the son of Md Liakat of Gozaria Police Station in Munshiganj, and Md. Hafiz was the son of late Md. Ismail of Fakirtilla area in Manikchhari.
According to sources, a head-on collision between two motorcycles in the Amtal area left four riders critically injured. Local residents rescued them and took them toward Nazirhat Upazila Health Complex, but SI Saiful and pedestrian Hafiz died on the way, reports UNB.
Nazirhat Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shahabuddin confirmed the incident.
He said that two people, including a police member, were killed in the head-on collision between two motorcycles. Police have visited the accident site and necessary legal procedures are underway, he said.
