Three motorcycle riders killed in Sylhet road accidents

Three motorcycle riders were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents at different places in the district on Sunday and last night.

The deceased were identified as Md Faizur Rahman, 24, son of Qutub Uddin, a resident of Sadipur Sunatla of Jalalabad police station of the district, Rashed Ahmed, 22, a resident of Gowainghat upazila and Abdullah Al Mamun Hawlader, 25, son of Badal Hawladar of Nadmolla village under Bhandaria police station of Pirojpur district.

Md Faizur Rahman died on the spot when his motorcycle collided head-on with a truck in front of the BGB camp in Akhalia at around 10.45 pm last night.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Mohammad Ali Mahmud confirmed the matter.

On Sunday afternoon, another motorcycle rider Rashed Ahmed was killed in a head-on collision with a Laguna at Pakhitiki of Jaintapur upazila on Sylhet-Tamabil road. Another rider was injured. Police rescued him and sent to a local hospital.

In another accident on Sunday morning, motorcycle rider Abdullah Al Mamun Hawlader died on the spot when a bus hit his motorcycle from opposite direction at Gayanaghat in Osmaninagar upazila on the Sylhet-Dhaka highway.

Sherpur Highway Police Station TSI Bidhu Bhushan Das confirmed the matter, reports BSS.
