The minister said We have talked about it at different levels. We have just started it. In future it will have to compete with other modes of transportation to make it versatile. We are also trying to recruit agents.
I don't want to do any business with railways. We want to expand facilities. Initially, we are giving the luggage vans in 16 trains. We will increase the number of luggage-vans depending on the demand, he added.
As many as 125 luggage vans will be attached to the trains step by step. Among them, 75 will be attached to the metre gauge line and 50 to the broad gauge line. At least 10 air-conditioned vans will be available at the broad gauge line and 16 for the metre gauge line.
