1,151 platoons of BGB deployed across the country

The BGB personnel will be working to ensure a free, fair and peaceful election, said Shariful Islam, public relations officer (PRO) at BGB headquarters on Friday.



 A total of 1,151 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the country, including the capital, to maintain law and order during the 12th parliamentary election scheduled for January 7.

The BGB personnel will be working to ensure a free, fair and peaceful election, said Shariful Islam, public relations officer (PRO) at BGB headquarters on Friday.

In order to assist the local civil administration, the BGB will work as a mobile and striking force to maintain peace and order in the electoral areas of the country, including Dhaka, from December 29, 2023 to January 10, 2024 under ‘In Aid to the Civil Power.’
