PM Hasina set to address AL workers at Ganabhaban

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to address her party workers and activists after her fourth consecutive win in the 12th national parliamentary election on Tuesday morning. 

Thousands of people gathered at the green yard of Ganabhaban, the prime minister’s official residence.

They came to the Ganabhaban to greet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her party Awami League for securing a landslide victory in the January 7 parliamentary polls.

Members of the cabinet, newly elected Awami League MPs, leaders, and activists of several wings of the party are waiting to hear from their leader Sheikh Hasina.

Meanwhile, the new Awami League MPs are set to take oath at the parliament on Wednesday. 

Awami League Office Secretary and Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Biplab Barua confirmed the matter. 

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina won the Gopalganj-3 constituency in a landslide victory, her eighth term as a Member of Parliament, while her party clinched victory in 223 seats to form the government in the much-talked-about election on Sunday.

Sheikh Hasina is the longest-serving prime minister in the history of Bangladesh. She has won the fifth term, which is also her fourth consecutive term.
