No security risk centering Ekushey February: DMP Commissioner

The DMP Commissioner said this while addressing a press briefing in the capital on Monday.



Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said there is no security threat centering the Ekushey February or Shaheed Dibosh (Martyrs' Day) and International Mother Language Day.

However, four tiers security measures will be taken to ensure environment on that day.

The DMP Commissioner said this while addressing a press briefing in the capital on Monday (February 19).

He said that the International Mother Language Day will be celebrated with due solemnity as usual. That’s why security measures were taken centering the Central Shaheed Minar.

He also said that President, Prime Minister, cabinet members, political leaders, various organizations will pay tribute to language martyrs at Shaheed Minar on February 21. To avoid any untoward incidents, a security fence will be created there with the combination of plain dressed policemen and other government forces in the area.
