NBR Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman Suspended Over Misconduct

The government has temporarily suspended AKM Mahbubur Rahman, the Commissioner of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), due to alleged misconduct.


The suspension was confirmed through a notification issued on Monday, signed by Md Abdur Rahman Khan, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance. According to the notification, the decision was made in accordance with Section 12 of the Employee Discipline and Appeal Rules of 2018.

Despite the suspension, Mahbubur Rahman will retain his entitlements and facilities during the suspension period. The order is set to take effect shortly.
