1,050 farmers get incentive for Aman cultivation in Cumilla

A total of 1,050 small and marginal farmers of Nangalkot upazila of the district were given seeds and fertilizers free of cost.



 A total of 1,050 small and marginal farmers of Nangalkot upazila of the district were given seeds and fertilizers free of cost as agriculture incentive for the cultivation of Aman paddy under the incentive and rehabilitation program in the current season.
To increase the interest of farmers in Aman paddy cultivation, the amount of incentive support has been increased significantly in the district, Upazila Agriculture Officer Zahidul Islam said.
Upazila Chairman Samchu Uddin Kalu distributed the incentive among the farmers as the chief guest at a function held at the upazila office premise this afternoon.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ashraful Haque, Municipal Panel Mayor and Councilor Mosharf Hossain, Upazila Agriculture Officer Zahidul Islam, Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Officer Junaid Hasan, among others, were present.
Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has allocated Taka 7,11,150 for this purpose.
Under the programme, each farmer was given five kilograms of high yielding Aman paddy seeds, 10-kg of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizers and 10-kg of Muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizers free of cost for cultivating Aman paddy.
