70,000 Gopalganj farmers get agri incentive for Boro crop

The seeds and fertilizers were distributed recently under the concerned upazila agriculture office, Deputy Director of the DAE Abdul Quader Sardar said.



A total of 70,000 small and marginal farmers in five upazilas of the district were given seeds and fertilizers as agricultural incentives under the incentive programme free of cost for hybrid and high-yielding (Ufshi) Boro paddy cultivation in the current rabi season.

To increase the interest of farmers in Boro paddy cultivation, the amount of incentive support and the number of farmers have increased significantly in the district, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Abdul Quader Sardar said.

The seeds and fertilizers were distributed recently under the concerned upazila agriculture office, Deputy Director of the DAE Abdul Quader Sardar said.

 He said that two kgs of hybrid Boro seeds, 10 kgs of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer and 10 kgs of Muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizer were given to each farmer free of cost for Boro paddy cultivating on one bigha of land among 40,000 farmers of the district.

Meanwhile, five kgs of high-yielding (Ufshi) Boro paddy seeds, 10 kgs of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer and 10 kgs of Muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizer were given to each farmer free of cost for Boro paddy cultivating on one bigha of land among 30,000 farmers of the district.

The beneficiaries are 13,800 farmers of Sadar Upazila, 11,800 farmers of Muksudpur upazila, 10,900 farmers of Kashiani Upazila, 20,500 farmers of Kotalipara Upazila and 13,000 farmers of Tungipara Upazila of the district, he added.
