1500 farmers get free seeds and chemical manures in Kalapara

Free seeds and fertilizer being distributed in Kalapara on Saturday 4 May 2024.

Patuakhali: Free chemical fertilizers and seeds have been distributed to 1,500 small and marginal farmers as a gift from the Prime Minister under the incentive program aimed at increasing Ufshi Aush paddy cultivation in Kalapara of Patuakhali. In the organization of the Upazila Agriculture Extension Directorate on Saturday afternoon, State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Md. Mohibbur Rahman MP distributed the fertilizer and seeds gifted by the Prime Minister among the farmers as the chief guest at the Upazila Parishad premises.

In the speech of the chief guest, State Minister Mohib said, 'Our role model is Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina. According to her instructions, not even an inch of land should be kept uncultivated. I am always by your side as a farmer's son. From today my constituency Kalapara-Rangabali has been declared open to all rivers, canals, reservoirs, sluice gates. Strict action will be taken against anyone who grabs these and tries to disturb the agricultural work in the name of fish farming.'

Under the chairmanship of Kalapara UNO Md. Rabiul Islam, upazila agricultural officer agriculturist Arafat Hossain gave a welcome speech on the occasion. Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Deputy Director Agriculture Extension Directorate, Patuakhali spoke as a special guest on the occasion.
