Narsindi farmers happy with yield of summer vegetables

Narsingdi farmers are happy as they are getting enough production of the summer vegetables.



 Narsingdi farmers are happy as they are getting enough production of the summer vegetables and its fair prices in the local markets this season.
Farmers have been very busy for the last couple of weeks in harvesting and transporting the vegetables amid the suitable climate condition.
According to the Department of Agricultural Department (DAE), some 68,200 hectares of land have been brought under various types of summer vegetable
cultivation at six upazilas of the district.
Various kinds of summer vegetables such as bitter gourd, cucumber, gourd, long bean, brinjal, and pumpkin had been cultivated at Shibpur, Belabo,
Raipura and Sadar upazilas of the district, DAE sources said.
Farmers of Narsingdi district supply at least 30-40 per cent of their produced vegetables to the capital each season after meeting their demands.
District Department of Agricultural Department has helped farmers with quality seeds, fertilizer and training as well as advice.
