Group Art show at Alliance Francaise, Dhaka from Wednesday

A piece of art of the group art exhibition - from sufferings to liberation - beginning at Alliance Francaise, Dhaka on Wesnesday



Alliance Française, Dhaka cordially invites you to the opening of the group art exhibition titled From Suffering to Liberation: Buddha of Benga’.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be held on Wednesday, 3 May 2023 at 5:00 pm at its La Galerie.

Organised by Oriental Painting Study Group and curated by Mikhail I Islam, Learning Design Studio; the event will be inaugurated by the Buddhist Vante Sanghananda Mohathero, High Priest of Sylhet Bouddho Bihar, as the chief guest. Nilu Rowshon Murshed, chairperson, Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts; François Grosjean, director, Alliance Française de Dhaka and Dr. Saymon Zakaria, Bangladeshi folk researcher and deputy director of the Development of Culture, Bangla Academy, will attend the ceremony as Special Guests.

Bringing together 50 artists from Bangladesh and West Bengal, India, this exhibit explores traditional expressions of Buddhist Sacred Art within the region. The exhibition seeks to capture the profound power and salvific nature of Buddhist Art; which have always served as crucial aids in guiding souls from their existential suffering to ultimate spiritual liberation. 

The exhibition will be open to all till Monday, 15 May 2023.

Visiting Hours: Monday to Saturday from 3 pm to 9 pm. Closed on Sunday. – Press release
