Solo Painting Exhibition “In Search of Peace” by Artist Sadrul Rafi Opens at Alliance Française de Dhaka

Alliance Française de Dhaka inaugurated the solo painting exhibition “In Search of Peace” by artist Sadrul Rafi at Galerie Zoom, Dhanmondi. The opening ceremony, held on Friday evening, was graced by Ekushey Padak recipient and renowned visual artist Professor Shahjahan Ahmed Bikash as the Special Guest.

The exhibition presents Rafi’s remarkable collection of drawings and paintings that reveal his deep engagement with both classical and contemporary artistic traditions. His works show strong influences from the great European masters — Pablo Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Sandro Botticelli, Claude Monet, and Henry Moore — while also reflecting inspiration from celebrated Bangladeshi artists such as S.M. Sultan, Zainul Abedin, Shafiuddin Ahmed, and Shahabuddin Ahmed.

Rafi’s precise use of pencil and fine detailing have culminated in a distinctive visual language that transcends conventional boundaries. For the artist, painting serves as a gateway into a vast imaginative world, where the intersections of belief, science, technology, and cosmology unfold in compelling harmony. His works invite viewers to reflect and explore the delicate balance between the inner and outer worlds — where imagination, emotion, and contemplation meet.

The exhibition “In Search of Peace” will remain open to all visitors until 29 October 2025, from Monday to Saturday, 3–9 pm, at Galerie Zoom, Alliance Française de Dhaka, Dhanmondi. – Press release
