ICAO assures full cooperation for Bangladesh aviation development
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has assured its full cooperation in the development of Bangladesh's civil aviation sector, including efforts to further strengthen aviation safety and security.
The assurance came in a recent letter sent to Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat, congratulating him on assuming office as a full minister.
ICAO Council President Toshiyuki Onuma and Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar extended their greetings to the minister on taking up his new responsibilities.
The two senior ICAO officials said the organisation would continue its full cooperation with Bangladesh in further advancing international civil aviation and ensuring safety and security in the sector.
ICAO plays a key role in developing international civil aviation standards and recommended practices and works with member states to promote safe, secure and orderly growth of the sector.
Its cooperation is considered important for the development of Bangladesh's civil aviation sector, modernisation of airport infrastructure and strengthening of aviation safety and security in line with international standards.
The letter also wished Minister Millat every success in discharging his new responsibilities, reports BSS.
