Dhaka, June 30 (UNB): To bolster safety and security, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the country's busiest, has introduced a series of additional security protocols.

The security measures are as follows:

1. VIP/VVIP Baggage Checks: Increased vigilance during baggage screening for all VIP and VVIP passengers.

2. Staff Awareness: Regular briefings and instructions provided to all AVSEC personnel to ensure preparedness.

3. CCTV Monitoring: Special directives issued to the CCTV monitoring team for enhanced surveillance.

4. Manual Inspection: Mandatory manual checks of high-risk luggage following scans through metal detectors and X-ray machines.

5. Firearm Permissions: Requirement of prior authorization and record-keeping for all firearm carriers entering the airport.

6. Security Investigation: Formation of an investigative committee by relevant agencies, along with preventive measures to address potential security breaches.
