Six matches of Ranking Badminton held

Dhaka, 29 Oct - Six matches -- three of men's and three of women's section -- of Summer Open Ranking Badminton tournament were held on the third (Tuesday) at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the capital, said a press release.

In the men's doubles event, Abdul Zahir Tanvir and Gourab Singho pair of Alora Shuttler beat Imtiaz Uddin and Nazmul Islam pair of Sylhet Badminton Academy by 21-12, 21-13 points, Bisha Shorma and Marzan Islam pair of Munnu Medical College defeated Masum Billa and Mintu pair of Coaches Rajib Badminton by 21-10, 21-5 points and Faisal Ahmed and Rushod Hasan pair of Rajshahi Badminton Academy outclassed Khosru and Nihar Ronjon pair of Nebadita Sporting Club by 21-14 and 21-17 points.

In the women's singles event, Smrity Rajbangshi of Liza Hossain Badminton Academy beat Toma Khatun of Dream Gazet Pabna by 21-7, 21-7 points, Margaret Mugdho Biswas of Tushar Badminton Academy outclassed Toma Murmu of APBN by 21-19 and 21-19 points and Arora of Gulshan Sporting Club beat Naima Sultana of Bangladesh Army by 21-19, 13-21 and 21-16 points.

A total of 320 shuttlers - 270 of men's and 50 of women's - from 106 teams are participating in the five-day meet, organize by Bangladesh Badminton Federation.
