Rupali Bank signs deal with Visa to expand card business
Rupali Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Visa, a global leader in digital payments, to expand the bank’s Visa card business and strengthen digital payment services in Bangladesh.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will work within a long-term framework to expand Rupali Bank’s Visa card portfolio across both consumer and commercial segments, said a press release.
The initiative will focus on introducing innovative card products and services and providing customers with a seamless digital payment experience.
Kazi Md. Wahidul Islam, Managing Director of Rupali Bank PLC, and Sabbir Ahmed, Country Manager for Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh at Visa, exchanged the signed documents at a ceremony.
Deputy Managing Director of Rupali Bank Tahmina Akhter, General Managers Hasan Tanvir and Harunur Rashid, and Arifur Rahman, Director of Visa Business Development, South Asia, among others, were present.
The agreement is expected to support Rupali Bank’s efforts to broaden its card portfolio and promote digital payment adoption in Bangladesh, reports BSS.
