Cashless Bangladesh Promotional Campaign held at Banani, Dhaka

Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury opened a Cashless Bangladesh campaign at Banani Kutcha Bazar on Thursday October 1, 2026.



A “Cashless Bangladesh” Promotional Campaign was held on October 01, 2026, at Banani Kacha Bazar, Dhaka, to promote digital payments and raise public awareness about Bangla QR. Mr. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, Hon’ble Minister for Finance and Planning of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, inaugurated the program as the Chief Guest. Mr. Md. Ahteshamul Haque Khan, Managing Director & CEO of Dutch-Bangla Bank, was also present at the campaign. During the campaign, the Hon’ble Minister made a purchase using Bangla QR through Dutch-Bangla Bank’s app.

The program was organized by Bangladesh Bank in association with Dutch-Bangla Bank.

The Hon’ble Minister highlighted Bangla QR as a fully encrypted and secure payment platform and urged the people to support the Government’s vision of building a “Cashless Bangladesh.” He also said that all transactions through Bangla QR under this initiative would be completely free of charge. He further said that people would no longer need to carry cash and that the payment process would be easier and faster.

As part of its commitment to supporting the Government’s “Cashless Bangladesh” vision, Dutch-Bangla Bank has been conducting a range of awareness and promotional activities across the country to encourage both customers and merchants to use Bangla QR.
