With these, a total 6.43 crore have been recovered so far, said Additional Police Commissioner (Intelligence) Md. Harun-ur-Rashid while talking to journalists at DMP media center on Sunday.

“According to Money Plant Link Private Limited, robbers looted Tk 11.25 crore from a microbus in Turag area while going to deposit it in Dutch Bangla Bank’s booths. After the incident, intelligence department immediately raided Khilkhet area and recovered Tk 3.89 crore on the same day,” said the officer.

Besides, various teams of Intelligence-Mirpur Division and Intelligence-Uttara Division conducted a series of drives in different  areas of the capital and Sunamganj and arrested the eight accused. They  recovered Tk 2.53 crore, the DMP official added.

A private car, used in the robbery, has also been seized, he said.
