Dhaka Bank PLC. has given support to Four Bangladeshi adventurers for “Dhaka Bank Island Peak” expedition organized by Abhijatri (A Dynamic force for Positive Change). A flag-handover ceremony to the mountaineers of this expedition was held on October 8, 2024, at the Head Office of Dhaka Bank (Gulshan).
Mr. Sheikh Mohammad Maroof, Managing Director and CEO of Dhaka Bank PLC. handed over the National Flag of Bangladesh and the flag of Dhaka Bank to the Expedition Team Leader Ms. Yeasmin Lisa and her adventurers team of explorers. These potential young mountaineers of Bangladesh will raise this flag on the top of Island Peak by the end of October.
Mr. A K M Shahnawaj, Additional Managing Director of Dhaka Bank, Deputy Managing Director Messrs. A M M Moyen Uddin, Md. Mostaque Ahmed and Akhlaqur Rahman; Mr. Sahabub Alam Khan, SEVP and CFO, Rayhan Kawsar, In-Charge Communications and Branding and Nishat Majumdar, the first Woman Everest Climber of Bangladesh and Co-founder of the organization “Abhijatri” was present on that occasion.
Under the sponsorship of Dhaka Bank, Ms. Yeasmin Lisa, Mohammad Yousuf, Safkat Faruk and Sohag Biswas will travel from Dhaka to Kathmandu (Nepal) for the expedition to Island Peak mountain on 9 th October. Imja Tse or Island Peak is one of the Himalayan peaks located in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal.
The mountain expedition at 6,165 meters above the plain will start on October 12 by trekking from Lukla and they will return home on November 4, 2024. In this twenty-seven-day expedition, they will cross three high Himalayan passes like Renjo La, Cho La, Khongma La along with Everest Base Camp. They will also go on thrilling trails like Kala Patthar, Ga Kio Ri, Chukhung Ri. – Press release
