Mohammad Abdul Mannan elected chairman of Central Shariah Board

Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Chairman, First Security Islami Bank PLC has been elected Chairman of the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh (CSBIB).

The decision was taken at the 69th meeting of the Central Shariah Board Executive Committee held at the boardroom of the head office of First Security Islami Bank recently.

Mohammad Abdul Mannan is serving as the Chairman of the Islamic Banks

Consultative Forum and Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB).

Mohammad Abdul Mannan, served the position of Managing Director and CEO of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC for three consecutive terms from 2010 to 2017. He

received the ‘Central Shariah Board Islamic Banking Award’ and the ‘Asian Banker

CEO Leadership Achievement Award’ as the best CEO for the year 2013, 2014 and

2015 among the 11,500 CEOs of banks in the Asia Pacific and Gulf region. In addition, he has received various national and international awards including the Remittance Ambassador of Bangladesh Award and the ‘Sardar Patel Award’ from India.
