Dhaka Bank, BB Launch ADB-Funded Entrepreneurship Dev Program

Dhaka Bank and Bangladesh Bank have Launched an ADB-Funded Entrepreneurship Dev Program recently.



Dhaka Bank PLC (DBPLC), in partnership with Bangladesh Bank, has launched a month-long Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) in Dhaka recently. The program is part of the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), an initiative of the Ministry of Finance with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including Ms. Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank (Chief Guest); and Presided by Mr. A K M Shahnawaj, Managing Director and CEO (Current Charge) of Dhaka bank PLC.

Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Director and SICIP Project Director; and Mr. Md. Ayub Ali, Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank were present as special guest. Representing Dhaka Bank were Mr. Md. Mostaque Ahmed, DMD and CEMO; Mr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman Palash, Head of MSME and Emerging Business Division; and Ms. Fahmida Chowdhury, Principal, DBTI.

The training is designed to help aspiring and existing entrepreneurs—especially those outside the formal banking network—gain the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to grow their businesses, access finance, and create jobs.

Dhaka Bank, selected to represent the Dhaka Region, is conducting the training through its institutional infrastructure. The course consists of 100 hours of sessions spread over one month, with 25 participants (selected by a 5-member Trainee Selection Committee). The program will continue until September 15, 2025. This collaboration reflects a shared vision to strengthen entrepreneurs and promote inclusive economic growth in Bangladesh. – Press release
