3 Bangladeshis killed in landmine blast near Myanmar border

Three Bangladeshi nationals were killed in a landmine explosion near the Myanmar border in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban district on Sunday.


The deceased were identified as Leraia, 41, son of Suniong Chakma, Ongke Mong, 50, son of Neomong Chakma and Chingka Ong, son of Oimong Chakam of Bhalukia Para under No ( war of Ghumdhum union of the upazila.

Enamul Hasan, Naikhongchhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), said the explosion occurred around noon in zero-line area near border pillars 42 and 43 along the Bangladesh-Myanmar frontier when they went there to visit their cropland.

On information, police recovered the bodies from the spot, reports UNB.
