2 Bangladeshi injured in ‘BSF firing’ in Satkhira

Two Bangladeshi nationals were shot and injured allegedly by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Bashantapur frontier in Kaliganj upazila of Satkhira district on Wednesday.


The victims were identified as Mohiuddin, 42, son of Golam Rabbani and Md Shahin, 28, son of Fazar Ali Sardar of Kaliganj upazila.

They are now undergoing treatment at Satkhira Medical College and Hospital, said Jewel Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station.

He said both of them went to India illegally one year ago, he said.

Locals said the BSF members opened fire on them early Wednesday when they attempted  to entered the country through the Kalindi River, leaving them injured, reports UNB.

Later, local people took them to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex from where they were shifted to Satkhira Medical College and Hospital.
