2 Indian nationals among 7 held in Rangamati

BGB detains the seven people from Barkal launch ghat in Rangamati



Dhaka, Nov 16 - Seven people including two Indian nationals have been detained by the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) from a speedboat at Barkal Launch ghat in Rangamati district.

Tipped off, a team of BGB-45 conducted a drive at a Rangamati-bound speedboat from Choto Harina area around 4:30 pm on Friday and arrested them, said Lieutenant Colonel Masud Al Ferdous of Barkal BGB-45 Battalion, 

The two Indian nationals were identified as Suresh Chakma, 39, son of Anjan Kumar Chakma and Arongkhan Chakma, 30, son of Jalanta Kumar Chakma of India.

They entered Bangladesh through Thegamukh area without valid document.

The BGB members also recovered Tk 2.69 lakh and a mobile phone from their possession.-UNB
