Indian national detained in Panchagarh for illegal entry

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members detained an Indian national in Tetulia upazila of Panchagarh on Saturday night for illegal entry into Bangladesh through the border.


The detainee is Satish Roy, son of one Deben Roy from Dakshin Dangapara under Maynaguri police station in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal.

According to a media release issued by the BGB-18 Battalion, the Satish illegally entered Bangladesh from India 15 to 20 days ago.

He had been staying at the house of one Ramzan Ali in Majhipara Toyagach area of Tetulia and working as a day labourer, reads the release.

Being informed, the BGB personnel detained him from the house on Saturday night and handed him over to Tetulia Model police station, reports UNB.

A case was filed in this connection, it added.
