Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has intensified security along the border area following the shooting of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

As part of the ongoing operation, BGB arrested two individuals on Monday for their alleged involvement in illegal border crossings.

According to a BGB press release, a patrol team from Baromari Border Outpost (BOP) under the Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB) arrested Benjamin Chidan (45), uncle-in-law of Philip, and Sishal (28), a close associate of Philip, from the Baromari border area of Nalitabari upazila in Sherpur on Monday afternoon.

Philip is accused of facilitating illegal border crossings.

Earlier, BGB arrested his wife Delta Chidan, father-in-law Yerson Rangdi, and another associate, Louis Lengminja, reports BSS.

They were subsequently handed over to the police for further legal action.

BGB officials said border surveillance has been strengthened to prevent illegal activities and ensure security in the wake of the recent shooting incident.
