Dhaka – Former champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi took a joint lead in the 13-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football, beating Muktijoddha Sangsad 2-1 on Thursday.
With the victory at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Sheikh Jamal shared the top spot in the league table with Bashundhara Kings, Dhaka Abahani and Sheikh Russel, securing full six points from straight two league encounters.
And Muktijoddha remained pointless losing their inaugural match.
Earlier, Sheikh Jamal made a good start in the league beating Chittagong Abahani 2-1 in the first match last Monday.
In the day’s match, two Gambian forwards Pa Omar Jobe and Solomon King Kanform scored for Sheikh Jamal DC, one in each half while Mehadi Hassan Royal netted the lone goal for Muktijoddha in the 93rd minute.
Omar opened the Sheikh Jamal account in the 38th minute (1-0) while Solomon King scored one more in the 60th minute for the winners.UNB
