
The BB chief made the call while meeting with Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi at BB headquarters in the city, said a press release.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on further strengthening Bangladesh-India bilateral economic, commercial and financial relations.
The governor also expressed interest in expanding the use of Bangla QR, promoting cross-border digital payments and exploring India's experience and possible technical cooperation in this area.
When the Indian High Commissioner emphasised further facilitating foreign investment, the governor said Bangladesh Bank had already taken several policy initiatives aimed at creating a more investment-friendly environment.
Under these initiatives, foreign investors would be able to repatriate their invested funds and profits more easily, he said.
The governor also invited increased Indian investment in Bangladesh's technology-driven, manufacturing and industrial sectors.
Indian Deputy High Commissioner (HC) to Bangladesh Pawan Kumar Badhe and Second Secretary (Economic and Commerce) Gourab Kumar Agarwal were present at the meeting.
Deputy Governors Dr Md Habibur Rahman and Md Sarwar Hossain attended the meeting on behalf of Bangladesh Bank, reports BSS.
