Bangladesh will host its first-ever AI business summit on November 5, bringing together policymakers, entrepreneurs and investors to promote the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence across the country’s industrial and commercial sectors.

The announcement was made at a press conference held on Tuesday at the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The “Bangladesh AI Business Summit 2026” will be jointly organised by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and the Ministry of Science and Technology at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Agargaon.

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has consented to attend the inaugural session as the chief guest.

Science and Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam, who also oversees the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, said the global economy was being reshaped by AI amid the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The summit’s central theme is “AI-fication for Tomorrow’s Economy”, built on the integration of three elements: People, Business and Intelligence.

The minister expressed hope that the joint initiative would play a groundbreaking role in promoting responsible AI adoption across industrial and commercial sectors and in building a sustainable AI ecosystem.

DCCI President Taskeen Ahmed said AI was transforming trade, industrial production, financial services and communications. “Adopting the technology is essential to staying competitive globally,” he said.

He stressed effective policy support, modernisation of education curricula and development of the necessary infrastructure to build national capacity.

The summit will feature an inaugural session, three thematic sessions and a B2B matchmaking session, Taskeen said.

An “AI Business Expo” will also be held alongside the summit, featuring 150 stalls showcasing products and services from local and international AI-based companies.

Young innovators and entrepreneurs from 20 public and private universities will also display their innovations.

The DCCI president said the event would create opportunities for young innovators, local entrepreneurs and foreign businesses to exchange ideas and expand trade. -UNB
