
The signing ceremony was held in a festive atmosphere this afternoon at the BAU Vice-Chancellor’s Office Conference Room, said a release here this evening.
BAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr A K Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan attended the event as the chief guest.
Special guests included Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Professor Dr. Md Bahanur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Professor Dr GM Mujibur Rahman, and Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology Professor Dr. Mohammad Amirul Islam.
Meanwhile, on behalf of CAU, Professor Dr. Juili Zhu and Professor Dr. Chuanhong Zhang were present at the ceremony, the release said.
Local coordinators -- Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Kader from the Department of Agronomy and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam from the Department of Agribusiness and Marketing, along with senior university officials, among others, were present.
As per the MoU, both universities will jointly work in the fields of education and advanced agricultural research.
The bilateral cooperation includes student and faculty exchange, joint research initiatives, high-quality research publications, modern training programmes, organisation of international conferences, and other mutually beneficial academic activities, reports BSS.
The collaboration will be further expanded through the College of International Development and Global Agriculture (CIIDGA) of CAU, it added.
After the signing ceremony, the guests visited the third floor of the Faculty of Agriculture Dean’s office and unveiled a plaque marking the inauguration of the “CAU Hub for Country and Region Studies.”
The hub is expected to play a significant role in advancing agricultural education and research cooperation between the two countries in the days to come, the release added.
