Three dimensional conflict among students of 3 city colleges

The capital’s New Market Police Station filed a case while the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka accepted the First Information report and fixed April 12 for submission of the probe report in the case.

Magistrate Ashek Imam of Dhaka CMM Court passed the order. Earlier, SI Hossaine Mohammad Arafat of New Market Police Station filed the case.

The First Information Report (FIR) of the case says that the students are from Dhaka College, Ideal College and City College. Several students of Dhaka College gather in front of the capital’s Science-Lab Police Box on their way to the Ideal College at about 12 noon on Tuesday in connection with a trifling matter and previous enmity.

On the other hand some Ideal College students took position in front of the BCSIR when the vehicles movement from both was stopped. In the circumstances, a group of police force tried to calm the agitated students and requested them to leave the place.

However, thee students did not agree and at some time the students of both group stared to throw brickbats targeting another group and tried to vandalize the vehicles on the road.

The FIR adds, in the meantime, some joined the conflicting students along with the several students of City College. They even, threw brickbats on the police. The excited students lead by the miscreants attacked Science-Lab Police Box and vandalized its doors, windows and things owned by the government.

As the police threw teargas to save lives and materials, the students and miscreants attacked police with brickbats and sticks.

In the incident, seven policemen were injured. - Special Correspondent
