Kalapara primary school teachers accused of beating students
A Kalapara Primary School class being inspected on Monday.
Patuakhali: Assistant teacher Aarti Rani and Beauty Rani of Nachnapara Basanti Mandal Government Primary School in Kalapara of Patuakhali have been accused of beating students, forcing them to clean toilets and classrooms. A parent named Halima Begum filed a written complaint with Kalapara UNO in this regard on Monday afternoon.
In the complaint, she mentioned that on July 17, her daughter Tasniha Akhter Fatema, a Class-I student, cleaned the school's toilet and classroom. Teacher Aarti and Beauty beat her with a duster on Monday morning because the student reported the matter to her parents.
Kalapara UNO Md. Jahangir Hossain said, after receiving the complaint, the school was inspected and various irregularities were found. The primary education officer has been directed to take action as per the rules. - Gofran Biswas Palash
