Khulna, July 16 -Students from various government and private universities and colleges in Khulna blocked the Khulna-Jashore Highway this morning, protesting Chhatra League's attack on students demanding quota reform.

Students from BL College, Haji Muhammad Mohsin College, and other colleges held a protest march and blocked the road at 10:30 am, at Notun Rasta intersection in the city, causing traffic gridlock. At 11:30 am, students from Khulna University and other educational institutions blocked the road at Shibbari Chottor in Khulna.

"We have been conducting a peaceful movement for rational quota reform. However, general students have been attacked in various parts of the country. We strongly condemn and protest against this heinous attack," said Khulna University student Saif Nawaz.

"Many of our brothers and sisters have been injured in the attacks. Their blood has been shed. We demand justice for this incident. Our movement will continue until our demands are met. We will return home as soon as our demands are met,” said another student, Monirul Hosaain Adib. - UNB
