Govt waives tuition fee of students hurt in Jul-Aug movement

Dhaka, Oct 29 – The government has waived tuition fees for students injured in the student-led movement in July-August.

The Secondary and Higher Secondary Division of the Ministry of Education issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.

The government has decided to waive tuition fees of injured students from secondary to university levels at government and private schools, colleges, madrasas, technical institutes, and universities, said the notification.

Injured students must apply to the head of their respective institutions with medical certificates.

The educational institutions will arrange for the waiver of tuition fees immediately after verification, said the notification.

The decision will apply from the current academic level of the students to university level. - UNB
