Milestone College students protest during advisers' visit

Students of Milestone School and College in the capital’s Uttara staged a demonstration on the campus Tuesday morning, protesting ‘falsehood’ over causalities in the BAF aircraft crash.


They staged the protests around 10:30am when two advisers Law  Adviser Asif Nazrul and Education Adviser CR Abrar — visited the campus to assess the situation.

When the advisers were leaving, students surrounded them and began chanting slogans-- "Fake! Fake!.

Later, the two advisers, CA’s press secretary Shafiqul Alam accompanied by several teachers, moved to the conference room on the ground floor of Building No. 5, where they began discussions with a delegation of five to seven student representatives.

Hundreds of students continued their protest outside the building.

Students are demanding the disclosure of accurate names and identities of those who died, a complete and verified list of the injured and compensation for affected families.

The death toll from the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara has risen to 27 as eight more victims succumbed to their injured at the Burn Institute on Monday might.

 “78 people are admitted to four hospitals. The deceased included 25 children, one pilot and one teacher. The bodies of 20 people have been handed over to their relatives,” Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Dr Sayedur Rahman said at a briefing at 8am on Tuesday at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, reports UNB.
