Rajshahi University (RU) has taken initiatives to ensure quality publications and curb plagiarism by enhancing the skills of its teachers and researchers in writing theses and research papers.

The RU administration disclosed the plan at the closing ceremony of a three-day workshop titled "Keyword Sequence Importance (KSI): A Novel Writing Module for Quality Publication and Plagiarism Reduction" at the university on Thursday afternoon.

The KSI model is a writing technique designed to help students and researchers prepare theses and research publications more effectively. It guides teachers and researchers to complete their academic work in a structured way, streamlining the process and improving quality.

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of RU organized the workshop at its conference hall.

RU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib attended the event as chief guest, while Pro-VCs Prof Mayeen Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan were present as special guests. IQAC Director Prof Abu Reza presided over the ceremony.

Prof Kamal Uddin from Malaysia's Putra University conducted the training sessions as resource person.

Speaking at the programme, VC Prof Naquib said research methods are evolving constantly, and the KSI module has opened a new avenue in academic research.

"We want to move forward with qualitative research by following the latest methods," he added.

Around 150 teachers and researchers from RU, Rajshahi University of Science and Technology, Varendra University, Rajshahi Medical University, Ahsania Mission Science and Technology University, North Bengal International University, Jessore Science and Technology University, Bangladesh Army University of Engineering and Technology, and Haji Danesh Science and Technology University took part in the workshop, reports BSS.
