Champion FM Neer receives cash prize
Dhaka, 1 Nov- FM Manon Reja Neer, who emerged unbeaten champion in the just concluded International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament, received cash prize of Taka 25,000.
The prize-distribution ceremony of the Int'l FIDE Rating Chess Tournament was held Wednesday at Manha's Castle Hall-room at Green Road in the city.
International Chess Arbiter Md. Haroon Or Rashid, CM Sohel Chowdhury and International Chess Arbiter Shajahan Kabir distributed the prizes among the winners.
Besides, tournament runner-up IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin received Taka 18,000, third place finisher FM Nayem Haque got received Taka 12,000 and fourth place finisher CM Md Masum Hossain received Taka 8,000 as cash prize.
A total of 72 players participated in the seven-round Swiss-league-style event and the winners were awarded total of Taka one lakh 20 thousand.
