Neer maintains top position in points table

Dhaka, 4 July - FIDE master Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh Navy maintained top position in the points table with nine points after the 11th round of SAIF POWERTEC 48th Chess Championship held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on Thursday.

Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh Ansar following the leader with eight points. 

Reigning grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib and international master Mohammad Fahad Rahman jointly shared the third position with 7.5 points.

Grandmaster Niaz Murshed of Bangladesh Ansar placed fourth position with seven points while FIDE master Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Bangladesh Ansar stood fifth position with six points.

In the day's 11th round matches, FM Manon Reja Neer defeated FM Khandaker Aminul Islam, GM Ziaur Rahman defeated IM Abu Sufian Shakil of Bangladesh Biman, GM Enamul Hossain Razib defeated IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman, GM Niaz Murshed defeated FM Debaraj Chatterjee of Barisal, FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Bangladesh Ansar defeated Amit Bikram Roy,IM Md Minhaz Uddin split point with FIDE Master Sheikh Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy, Anata Choudhury of Palli Sanchoy Bank split point with FIDE Master Nayem Haque of Bangladesh Biman.
