Manha's Castle Open FIDE Rating Chess begins

Dhaka, 4 Sep - The Manha's Castle 26th Open FIDE Rating Chess 

Tournament has begun at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room today 
(Wednesday).

A total of eighty five players including three FIDE masters, six candidate 
masters and three women candidate masters are participating in this event.

The first and second round games were held today and after the second round 
games, a total of seventeen players sharing lead in the points table with 
maximum two points.

They are FIDE master Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, FIDE master Mehdi Hasan Parag, 
candidate master Md Sariatullah, candidate master Shafiq Ahmed, candidate 
master Abu Hanif, Md Hasan Emam, candidate master Abzid Rahman, Abhijit 
Ghosh, candidate master Sajidul Haque, Tahmidul Haque, Md Anichuzzaman Jewel, 
Tanvir Alam, woman candidate master Neelava Choudhury, Mohammad Shakil, Md 
Shariful Islam, Tipu Sultan and Md Rabiul Hossain. 

The competition is being held in eight round Swiss-League format and cash 
will be given to the winners.
