GM Razib emerges unbeaten champion

Dhaka, 16 Nov - Grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib emerged undefeated champion in the Sports Bangla FIDE Rapid Chess Competition held at Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall-Room on Friday, said a press release.

Razib won the title by getting seven and a half points from eight games.

FM Manon Reja Neer became runner-up with seven points. FM Subrota Biswas became third, Anata Choudhury became fifth and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag finished fifth with six and a half points.

The winners were given a cash prize of forty two thousand taka.

A total of 116 players participated in the event, which was held in an eight- round Swiss-league format.

After the game, ASP of Bangladesh Police Md Mahbubur Rahman distributed the prizes among the winners.

Md Arifuzzaman Arif, president of Sports Bangla and member of Bangladesh Chess Federation, presided over the prize distribution ceremony.
