World Junior Chess Championship begins tomorrow

Dhaka, 24 Feb - The World Junior (U-20) Chess Championship begins in Petrovac city, Montenegro Tuesday. 

Bangladeshi Int'l Master Manon Reja Neer and FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia will participate in the event, according to a press release.

The champion of the World Junior Chess Championship will be directly awarded the grand master title while and the runner-up and third-place finishers will be also directly awarded the International Master title. 

It's also possible to achieve the Grand Master and International Master norms from this event. 

The World Junior Chess Championship will be held in eleven-round Swiss-league format.

A total of 166 players, including 13 Grand Masters, 37 International Masters and 47 FIDE Masters from 61 countries are participating in this year's World Junior (Under-20) Chess Championship.
