Tahsin beats his Norway rival in 6th round

Dhaka, 3 March -FIDE Master (FM) Tahsin Tajwar Zia defeated International Master (IM) Aksel Bu Kvaloy of Norway in the sixth round of World Junior (U-20 Years) Chess Championship, which is now being held in Petrovac, Montenegro. 

In the sixth round match held on Sunday last, FM Tahsin played with white pieces against the Nimzo-Indian Defense of IM Kvaloy. 

After move 22, FM Tahsin gained an advantageous position. IM Kvaloy made an error on move 24, which allowed FM Tahsin to seize control and secure a winning position by move 28.

Earlier, IM Manon Reja Neer split point with FM Casadio Niccolo of Italy. He played with white pieces against the French Defense of Casadio Niccolo. Neer drew after 58 moves in the advanced variation. 

Tahsin secured four points, while Neer bagged three points after the sixth round.

Earlier, in the fifth round held on Saturday last, FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia defeated Cave Iwan of Wales and IM Neer beat Candidate Master (CM) Matyakubov Miraziz of Uzbekistan. BSS
